Concept Resourcing, an independent recruitment consultancy based in Dudley have kick-started their 'Summer of Giving' fundraising campaign in aid of Cancer Research UK by holding 'The Great Easter Bake-Off'.
The event, which raised an impressive £156.00 in the first day, is the first in a programme of activities being organised with the sole aim of raising as much money as possible for the charity, which was voted on and selected by the firm's employees.
Following on from the cake tasting, 13 members (and counting) of the team are going into training to participate in a gruelling off road 5km run at the Baggeridge Country Park on 28th June, followed by 4 female team members participating in the 'Race for Life' at Himley Hall on 15th July.
Future events include a quiz night, a craft sale and raffle and a poker night - all planned to help the team achieve their £1000 target.
Chris Short, Managing Director of Concept Resourcing said "As a company, we are committed to raising money for charity, and I am delighted with how the team have come together in order to support such a worthy cause. I am confident that we will smash our fundraising target of £1000 and look forward to seeing what we will achieve. Cancer Research UK does such incredible work, it's humbling to feel that we are all able to take part and make a difference in a small way."
