Job Title: Group Financial Controller
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 plus Bonus and Benefits
About the Company:
We are a dynamic, private equity-backed company on an exciting journey of growth. With an ambitious buy-and-build investment strategy, we plan to make 3 to 4 strategic acquisitions over the next 24 months, aiming to treble our EBITDA within 3 to 4 years. To support this, we are looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to play a key role in shaping our financial operations and driving success.
Role Overview:
As our Group Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our financial systems. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this role is essential to supporting the company’s rapid expansion and ambitious growth plans. You will manage all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and financial controls, while also leading a high-performing finance team and supporting our M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and continuously improve internal controls.
- Prepare and deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate audits and assess financial risks to support business strategy.
- Play a key role in M&A due diligence and the financial integration of acquisitions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team to meet business needs.
- Assist the Group CFO with strategic initiatives and financial planning.
Who We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Financial Controller, ideally in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment.
- A fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA professional.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, statutory regulations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with Sage Intacct ERP is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment.
