Job Title: Security Field Service Engineer
Location: Reading / Didcot
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Security Field Service Engineer to join our client’s team. In this role, you will provide exceptional engineering expertise and outstanding customer service during the repair and maintenance of various security solutions, including CCTV, Intruder Alarms, and Access Control Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical expertise in diagnosing faults and conducting repairs across a diverse range of PC/Network-based and analogue security systems.
- Work with CCTV operating systems, ranging from small-scale setups to large multi-site installations, ensuring efficient operation of PC-Based Digital Recorders.
- Understand and troubleshoot fibre optic transmission systems, LAN/WAN networks, and radio telemetry systems.
- Respond to emergency situations outside standard hours as per departmental requirements.
- Collaborate with various teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Engage in team meetings, actively contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Pursue continuous personal development and participate in performance reviews and development plans.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training and professional development.
- Become part of an on-call rota (1 in 6)
Qualifications and Competencies:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electronic Security or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, and Intruder Systems.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems and digital electronics principles.
- Understanding of Health and Safety standards.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP and network fundamentals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, with a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and effective time management skills are essential for this role. Being able to obtain an SC clearance for this role is essential.
Package:
- Basic: £34,000 – £40,000
- Overtime Available
- 40 Hour Working Week – 08:00 to 16:30
